Let’s be honest—Blissfield isn’t exactly a culinary capital. That doesn’t mean you’re doomed to chain restaurants and frozen dinners. Hidden among the small-town charm are genuine gems worth discovering. Here are the spots where locals and savvy visitors find memorable meals without driving to the city.
Kapnick Orchards
$$ | (517) 423-7419 | WEBSITE

Not only does Kapnick Orchards have quality farm products, but they have some of the best baked goods in this entire guide. Every day from opening until closing all of this family-run spot’s straightforward treats are available fresh. Standard items like apple cider are $4.50, and combination delights like their rhubarb pie with a flaky crust go for just $7.50. The spacious market area has plenty of picnic table space, so it’s perfect for a family outing.
Plus, it’s wholesome enough that you can stock up on produce and not feel like you need to compromise on supporting local agriculture.
B Town Bar & Grill
$ | (517) 486-4515 | WEBSITE

This spot definitely belongs in your Blissfield rotation. It’s a welcoming, low-key bar and grill, and its friendly service makes it perfect for families or a night out. They have a good selection of drinks as well as decent food options. If you’re into bar classics, the gyro combo with crispy tots is pretty good, but we suggest going for the sports entertainment instead. Make sure to visit when you’re in town—it’s worth it, even with the street parking.
McDonald’s
$ | (517) 486-4177 | WEBSITE

Before McDonald’s became a global chain, it was a restaurant in San Bernardino. And while both have great burgers, the Blissfield location is our favorite spot when we want something quick. Try one of the classic cheeseburgers, which often come with a solid, not sloppy patty that’s satisfying without being overbearing. Don’t forget it’s drive-thru friendly.
Lena’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant
$ | (517) 486-4385 | WEBSITE

With its classic wooden booths, crisp white tablecloths, and warm lighting, Lena’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant feels like an Italian eatery that’s sponsored by a family reunion. But the combination of fancy decor and family-style atmosphere is elegant and welcoming versus feeling like a stuffy formal dining room. The menu has plenty of loaded pasta dishes that all fall around $22, but if you prefer simpler preparations, pizzas and basic appetizers are all about $16.
And whether you’re at this accommodating spot for a special occasion dinner or catching up with some relatives, you can always count on consistently delicious Italian food that won’t require you to break the bank.
Starling Lounge / Four Keys Brewing
$ | (517) 282-4244 | WEBSITE

Though Starling Lounge in Blissfield is primarily a casual gathering spot, it’s one of the best places for a relaxed meal with excellent craft beer. It’s been a local favorite for years, and has a welcoming atmosphere with delicious (and reasonably priced) bar food and house-brewed ales. Many beers are around $6-$8 and most menu items are $9-$14.
Just know that it’s family-friendly, so make sure to bring the kids and prep your appetite for the tasty bar crackers and Scandalabra amber you’re about to enjoy.
Beckeys Kountry Kitchen Bakery & Restaurant
$ | (517) 486-6020 | WEBSITE

Head to Beckeys when your family is visiting from out of state and you need a cozy, classic spot. It’s a quaint place in the little village of Blissfield, and it serves the best liver and onions and crazy-good green beans with crispy bacon. This is perfect for Dad, who doesn’t actually like fancy food but loves a massive Reuben with hand-cut fries.
Emmy’s Kitchen
$ | (517) 759-0580 | WEBSITE

Emmy’s Kitchen is a delightful dessert spot in Blissfield with a cozy pastel-colored interior and plenty of seating. And those seats are often full of locals grabbing a sweet treat when they realize that they forgot to pick up something for a party. The desserts here are definitely delicious, but the main draw of Emmy’s Kitchen is its creativity. Most cupcakes cost $4, brownies hover around $3, and macarons are all about $2 each. Plus, their custom cakes are all $40 or less.
Sports Pizza
$ | (517) 486-6900 | WEBSITE

The stretch of Main Street in Blissfield has its share of casual spots that are affordable enough for families, and Sports Pizza falls into this category. Because of its top-quality subs, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, this place is always busy. Increase your chances of getting a table by coming early, not during peak hours, and remember to try the Ruben pizza.
Blissfield Coney Island
$ | (517) 486-3212 | WEBSITE

The next time you want to eat an exorbitant amount of pancakes, go to Blissfield Coney Island in Blissfield. Here, $8.99 gets you a stack of three massive pancakes that could easily be a meal on their own. Or, you can upgrade to the breakfast special with eggs and bacon for $3 more—just make sure you’re actually hungry enough to finish it all. There’s plenty of booth seating in this brightly lit sit-down spot, so it’s a great place for a casual breakfast with friends after a morning out.
Nourish Juicery & Kitchen
$ | (517) 920-0433 | WEBSITE

Eating at Nourish Juicery & Kitchen feels like dining in a sunlit garden café. There’s natural light streaming through the windows, and the space is bright and airy—so it’s not the best choice for a moody, intimate dinner, but it’s perfect for a wholesome brunch.
The menu is thoughtful, with a section called “Gluten-Free Treats” that has items like “Saturday morning pancakes” (perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, topped with fresh fruit, real maple syrup, and pure peanut butter). You can get vegetarian meals and alternative grain dishes too, which are fine, but like the atmosphere, the vibrant, dietary-friendly options are why you’re here.
Country Charm Cafe
$ | (419) 644-9600 | WEBSITE

Country Charm Cafe is a wonderful spot in Blissfield for a casual meal. Its cozy, homey dining room is perfect for a family breakfast or a weekend catch-up, and if you’re planning on coming with a larger group, they also have a few additional tables that can accommodate everyone. Their classic menu has a satisfying range of comfort foods, including breakfast staples and homemade desserts, like the all meat omelette: fluffy eggs packed with savory meats and served with crispy home fries.
And while you’re here you can expect generous portions at reasonable prices, with the friendly staff making sure every table feels welcome, even those with young infants.
