Rocky View County doesn’t just eat—it feasts on tradition. We’ve devoured everything from bison burgers at roadside stands to farm-to-table tasting menus, but most spots serve predictable plates you could find anywhere. Not these. These are destination restaurants with stories deeper than the Bow River. This list is pure Alberta: fiercely debated, proudly local, and built on generations of culinary craft. We’ve eaten our way through every mile.
Pizza Maru Kitchen+Bar
$$ | (403) 969-8008 | WEBSITE

We love all of Pizza Maru Kitchen+Bar’s pizza offerings, but their Holy Honey Sweet Potato and Shrimpbul combo stands out. We get that not everyone’s a fan of sweet potato on pizza (including us)—too many taste like glorified dessert pies. But not this one. It’s balanced, a little sweet, and looks like a masterpiece of thin, crispy crust. If there’s still no way you’re eating sweet potato pizza, try their Katsu dish.
It’s packed with so much flavor, it’ll make your taste buds as happy as a kid in their spacious, family-friendly dining room.
CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice – Harvest Hills
$ | (403) 454-2283 | WEBSITE

This is a very creamy strawberry milk tea with so many strawberry popping bobas, some of them burst when you take a sip. Stir it up and you can actually see the vibrant pink swirls throughout. It’s a delicious drink—our only nitpicky complaint is that the boba can settle at the bottom, and we don’t like having to stir constantly to get an even distribution. Regardless, it has no effect on its amazing flavor.
And while you’re here, make sure to try the taro milk tea—it’s some of the best in the county.
Pizza Hut Evanston , Calgary
$ | (587) 354-4880 | WEBSITE

There’s no cheese pizza like this in Calgary. It’s a classic (in the best way possible) and almost double the thickness of other pizza joints’ pies. It’s surprisingly fresh and it tastes like comfort. You can see the melted cheese on top, it’s dotted with herbs, and has a slightly crispy crust. They bring it to you piping hot from the oven, and finishing it is a delight. We like pairing ours with a soda to balance the richness.
Umi Sushi Express
$ | (587) 619-9983 | WEBSITE

California rolls are common, but a Crazy California roll is a rare thing. So what’s the difference? We’d like to picture a California roll wearing a tiny cowboy hat while holding a spicy mayo bottle between its little nori-wrapped fingers. But the boring reality comes down to the rice’s consistency. Umi Sushi Express’s Crazy California roll has a firm rice that isn’t heavy on the mayo. You can actually see and taste chunks of fresh crab meat.
And the rolls are sturdy enough to carry around in the pockets of your very own jeans if you so choose.
Paris Baguette
$ | (825) 540-1903 | WEBSITE

Plenty of bakeries have popped up around Rocky View County, but Paris Baguette Beacon Hill stands out for all the right reasons. The bright, clear interior feels more like a serene gallery than a typical café, with pastries displayed like edible works of art that elevate the whole experience. Yet one thing remains consistently excellent: their chicken sandwiches are genuinely delicious.
Each features fresh, high-quality ingredients with balanced flavors, and the portion feels substantial without being overwhelming. The sandwiches pair perfectly with their coffee, which offers various lactose-free milk options for customization. Plus, Paris Baguette has the most efficient service system in the area—friendly, helpful staff keep things moving smoothly even on busy weekends, and the spacious free parking makes visits convenient.
It’s a quiet, appealing spot that delivers amazing food every time.
Chicko Chicken – Harvest Hills
$ | (403) 452-4763 | WEBSITE

Chicko Chicken’s Korean fried chicken is pricier than your typical fried chicken. But it’s also the only place that gets the sauce-to-chicken ratio just perfect. It has all the qualities of stellar Korean fried chicken: a crunchy exterior, tender meat, and those popular flavors like Yang Yeom and Soy Garlic. Aside from the consistently delicious chicken, they serve sweet potato fries cooked to perfection and those shake shake fries that kids love.
When dipped in that sweet spicy sauce, it’s like eating the ultimate Korean fried chicken experience. But don’t ignore those fries either. Pair them with the chicken and make yourself the perfect meal. The friendly staff provide great service, and with ample free parking next to T&T, it’s a convenient go-to spot that keeps customers coming back.
The Alley
$$ | (403) 453-6886 | WEBSITE

Yes, this is a bubble tea. But a good bubble tea is a good bubble tea. And this is a particularly great one. It’s bursting with creamy tiramisu flavor and a sweet brown sugar crunch. It’s velvety inside, crunchy outside, and actually about the same size as its classic counterpart. Just know that this place is far from a quick stop. You can’t just swing by for bubble tea to go, but it’s a great excuse to sit down and pair it with their amazing drinks and friendly recommendations.
Subway
$ | (403) 226-2522 | WEBSITE

Subway is a quick-service sandwich spot, so you can come here for a fast lunch and enjoy a customized BLT with thirteen bacon strips. Other sandwiches are a little hit or miss, but you can always count on their generous toppings. Their service is quick and efficient, but the staff is just perfect: friendly, not too pushy, and helpful enough to explain how to make an eggless sandwich and recommend popular options.
The cookies are generally delicious, and even when ordering snacks, the staff’s patience and friendliness stood out. Overall, Subway provides good service, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere for both kids and adults.
Gong Cha CrossIron (Bubble Tea)
$ | (825) 222-7382 | WEBSITE

Before you dismiss this as just another mall bubble tea spot, know that we visited four separate times. Because, like many, we’d heard this was the best bubble tea near Rocky View County. And it’s close—absolutely still a fantastic drink. The Panda Milk foam is their signature with a creamy texture that gives these drinks a distinctive richness. But the taro from the brownie series can sometimes be bland enough to make you wish you’d stuck with the classics.
We recommend going during slower hours when they’re more likely to craft perfect drinks with that creamy foam topping that always satisfies.
Love at First Scoop & Coffee
$ | (403) 250-5237 | WEBSITE

Love at First Scoop & Coffee shatters typical ice cream cake expectations. Traditionalists might question their cookies and cream version (it looks like a giant, speckled hockey puck), but that yields more creamy goodness per slice. These cakes are smooth on the outside, packed with gorgeous, thick layers of rich cheesecake flavor, and teeming with bits of coconut. If you think that’s sweetness overload, then this really isn’t the dessert for you (and you’re mistaken).
A visit comes with an additional cup of well-brewed espresso, which is robust, still steaming from the machine, and complements the decadent cakes.
Marble Slab
$$ | (403) 452-5242 | WEBSITE

There are nearly as many ice cream shops in Rocky View County as there are sugar cravings. But Marble Slab is the most reliable one (and we can’t be held liable if you go somewhere else). If you like a creamy and dreamy treat, go to Marble Slab and get their strawberry shortcake ice cream. It’s sweet, smooth, and super refreshing. But the custom creations are more fun than a kid’s birthday party—and packed with just as much joy.
As busy as this place gets, it’s a very relaxed spot where you can sit at a table and eat your waffle cone in peace under (of all things) soft, cheerful lighting.
